Katee Sackhoff cast in female The Expendables. The casting of Katee Sackhoff in a female The Expendables film  – produced by Adi Shankar and written by Dutch Southern – fills out the cast with one more actress previously seen in action roles (Battlestar Galactica, 24, Longmire). “‘The Female Expendables.’…project…will be produced by Adi Shankar‘s company 1984 Private Defense Contrators [and] came together last month after the successful opening of The Expendables 2.”

On Katee Sackhoff’s casting in the film by Adi Shankar: “If you spend five minutes with Katee it becomes blatantly obvious that she would pwn (sic) most male action stars.”

The casting announcement also mentions that “several prominent actresses affiliated with the action genre continue to circle the project” so possible other action heroines in the film might include Linda Hamilton, Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lucy Lawless, Cynthia Rothrock, Lucy Liu, Sarah Michelle Geller, Milla Jovovich or Kate Beckinsale.
