The Last Ship Gets Picked Up for a Fourth Season. TNT is staying at bay with The Last Ship as the summer action drama has earned itself a season four renewal. The Last Ship was among other veteran shows that got picked up for another season of 13 episodes to air next summer.

The announcement of The Last Ship’s renewal was made during the Television Critics Association summer press tour, according to TVLine. Series star Eric Dane, who plays Captain Tom Chandler, told the website that the finale for this season will give us an idea of where season four will go and possibly more. “We know where Chandler is going to be at the beginning of Season 4,” he explained. He also added that, “[W]e have an idea what the first five seasons look like.”

So we can expect more adventures with the Nathan James crew after this exciting news. The season has been consistent with the ratings so far, reaching an average of 2.2 million viewers and a 0.5 demo ranking. Counting DVR numbers, the action thriller brings in a weekly total of 7.6 million viewers.
