LEGEND (2015) Movie Trailer 2: Two Tom Hardys Take Over London

Tom Hardy Legend

Legend U.S. Trailer Has Been Released. Brian Helgeland‘s Legend (2015) movie trailer stars Tom Hardy, Emily Browning, Taron Egerton, and Chazz Palminteri. Legend‘s plot synopsis: “Identical twin gangsters Ronald and Reginald Kray terrorize London during the 1950s and 1960s.”

We’ve reported on Helgeland’s Legend a few months ago, when all we had was a U.K. teaser trailer (which you can revisit here). The premise is immediately captivating, if you’re into gangster tales, stylized period pieces, or just Tom Hardy, in general (and honestly, who isn’t?). We’ve now been given an official U.S. trailer to go alongside our excitement, and it looks like it contains a nice balance of fun and serious action. It’s hard to tell which side of that balance the film will skew toward – is this mostly a comedy? I don’t think so, but the trailer certainly makes it seem plausible. I’m hoping for most of the jokes to come from a place of critiquing the insanity of our two protagonists – they’re murderous, imbalanced criminals, and there is definitely comedy found within. I’m hoping for a serious film sprinkled with comedy-relief that isn’t too silly.

In any case, we’ll have to see. The creative forces behind this are solid, the film looks great visually, and I’ll see absolutely anything starring Tom Hardy. Take a look at the trailer, while we wait for this to be released.

Legend also stars David Thewlis, Tara Fitzgerald, Colin Morgan, Aneurin Barnard, Chazz Palminteri, Lorraine Stanley, Daniel Westwood, Stephen LordLeila Wong, and Millie Brady.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
