Logan Lucky Trailer
Steven Soderbergh‘s Logan Lucky (2017) movie trailer stars Daniel Craig, Katherine Waterston, Seth MacFarlane, Channing Tatum, and Sebastian Stan. Logan Lucky‘s plot synopsis: “Trying to reverse a family curse, brothers Jimmy (Channing Tatum) and Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.”
Seeing Daniel Craig play James Bond in Spectre, some viewers forgot what a good actor Daniel Craig could be when given well-written material. The first time I saw Craig act was in Layer Cake, a drama with action and comedy elements. Watching him in Logan Lucky, Craig has not lost a comedic step. On the contrary, he is the best part of this Logan Lucky trailer, especially his American accent.
I thought that Steven Soderbergh was stepping back from directing but it looks like the right project was hard to turn down. Obviously, there is a big difference between an average director and Steven Soderbergh. Soderbergh’s camera placement when the car busts through the glass in Logan Lucky is an example of this. He puts the viewer right in the center of the on-screen action.
I hope Soderbergh does the same with the other scenes and aspects of Logan Lucky.
