LONDON HAS FALLEN (2016) Movie Image: Gerard Butler Kicking Ass

First London Has Fallen Movie Image Released. A still photo from the upcoming sequel to 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen has been released. If you can’t tell, the location has been changed from Washington D.C. to London, but the premise is most likely strikingly similar.

In an age where every non-indie or dramatic movie is intended to become a franchise, it’s not that shocking to see Olympus Has Fallen get sequel treatment. After all, it made its money back and the basic action appeal is there. To be honest, I’m more excited for a sequel such as this one than any other expected, unsurprising continuation of any of the current crop of storylines (well, Captain America: Civil War might be the exception here). It’s just awesome that we’ll be getting another R-Rated action movie featuring Gerard Butler breaking bones and murdering ‘the enemy’. I only have one valid concern, which is the change of director from someone as capable as Antoine Fuqua to someone as seemingly inexperienced and unfamiliar as Babak Najafi. I’ve never heard of this man, and his IMDb credits are not confidence-inspiring whatsoever.

However this may turn out – and I have a feeling it will be a fully capable, satisfying, R-Rated action movie – the first still has been released. It features Butler in the process of dropping someone, gun in hand.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
