Los Angeles Film Festival 2015: FilmBook’s First Year Attending [LAFilmFest]

LA Film Fest Logo

This is FilmBook‘s first year covering the Los Angeles Film Festival. I have seen articles and reviews from this prestigious film festival, now the 21th Annual Los Angeles Film Festival, on other websites for years. In 2015, I am proud to say that we are in attendance for the first time and we will be bringing you that coverage.

There is an ever growing list of people behind the scenes of FilmBook that make this website and its coverage possible. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and ever one of them for their tireless efforts on this website’s behalf.

As with any film festival, we will not be able to see and cover every film shown (a near impossible feat) but we will be seeing and reporting on a great deal of them. Those films include Grandma, It’s Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong, The Overnight, DopeLas Malas Lenguas, and many others.

On the Los Angeles Film Festival:

The Los Angeles Film Festival, also known as the LA Film Fest, is an annual film festival held in June in downtown Los Angeles, California. It showcases independent, international, feature, documentary and short films, as well as music videos. Since 2001 it is run by the organization Film Independent, which also has been arranging the annual Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica since 1985.

The festival began as the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival (LAIFF) in 1995. The LAIFF ran for six years, until it was absorbed into Film Independent in 2001.

[The] Film Independent…[is] a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting and supporting independent films and filmmakers that embody diversity, innovation and uniqueness of vision.

As mentioned earlier, the Los Angeles Film Festival is already underway (June 10, 2014 – June 18, 2014).
