Machete gets his own flick

The faux trailer that adorned the beginning of Planet Terror, the Robert Rodriguez directed segment of 2007’s Grindhouse, entitled Machete, is getting its own movie. Whether it will be a straight to video (STV) release or see the light of day is uncertain. What is certain is that the movie will be released in some format this year.

I had heard when Grindhouse had completed filming that Rodriguez had shot 40 minutes to maybe an hour of footage for his Machete trailer and only needed a little more for a full-fledge movie.

I guess he got around to completing it after his Barbarella remake fell through because of casting issues. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to see it. Now if they would only make complete film for Edgar Wright’s Don’t trailer.
