NBC‘s Midnight, Texas (2017) TV show trailer stars François Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Arielle Kebbel, Jason Lewis, and Peter Mensah. Midnight, Texas‘ plot synopsis: “Welcome to a place where being normal is really quite strange. From the visionary director of “Mr. Robot” and based on the hit book series from the author [Charlaine Harris] behind HBO’s “True Blood” comes a journey into a remote Texas town where no one is who they seem. From vampires and witches to psychics and hit men, Midnight is a mysterious safe haven for those who are different. As the town members fight off outside pressures from rowdy biker gangs, ever-suspicious cops and their own dangerous pasts, they band together and form a strong and unlikely family.”

A Village of the Damned indeed. Following the success (and drastic writing fall) of True Blood and the success of Lucifer,  Midnight, Texas has a chance to find an audience hunger for supernatural, now that The Vampire Diaries has come to an end.

With its mix of divergent creatures, like Almost Human, Midnight, Texas seems to have something for many horror fans. What the show will need is edge, enough edge, uniqueness, and good writing to survive.

Getting Niels Arden Oplev to direct the first episode of Midnight, Texas was a brilliant move by NBC. The Swedish version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was great and Oplev was its director.

Midnight, Texas also stars Sarah Ramos, Yul Vazquez, Joanne Camp, Parisa Fitz-Henley, and Kelly V. Lucio.
