While big screen adaptations of animated TV shows tend to be mediocre at best and apocalyptically bad at worst, the second promo for My Little Pony: The Movie suggests that the movie is neither. For one thing, the producers made the effort to increase the quality of the animation while still retaining the look of the series, resulting in the characters and settings resembling their small-screen counterparts with the only significant difference being the depth and fluidness of the animation.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an animated feature without a cast of random celebrity voice actors, many of whom probably won’t actually do much in the final product. At least, the ones who aren’t Emily Blunt might not, since she appears to have a pretty central role as the villain of the piece.
