THE NICE GUYS (2016) Movie Trailer & Poster: Ryan Gosling & Russell Crowe, Private Investigators in the 1970s

The Nice Guys Movie Trailer. Shane Black‘s The Nice Guys (2016) movie trailer stars Ryan GoslingRussell Crowe and Kim BasingerThe Nice Guys‘ plot synopsis: “A private eye investigates the apparent suicide of a fading porn star in 1970s Los Angeles and uncovers a conspiracy.”

Shane Black is a treasure, as he’s either created or been deeply involved in Lethal Weapon (1987), The Last Boy Scout (1991) – a highly beloved personal favourite of mine, regarding 90s action and Bruce Willis being Cool – and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005).  That’s a fistful of dopeness, and I’ve always enjoyed his slightly off kilter take on action movies. They’re wild, unpredictable, zany and intense. He’s also very good at handling comedy. I’m a fan, and I’m happy he’s successful and continuing to make movies like this.

According to Slashfilm, “Let’s break out the Shane Black Bingo card, shall we? Two mismatched lead characters forced to work together. Check. A central mystery that sounds simple but soon reveals itself to deeper than anyone expected. Check. Casual, tough-guy posturing from a character whose bite is as strong as his bark. Check. Extreme violence tinged with pitch-dark comedy. Check. When it comes to hitting the Shane Black beats, this movie is only missing ‘set during Christmas.'”

Take a look at the poster below. Simple, to the point, no bullshit – I like it.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
