Weekend Impressions

Coco will be Number One at the box office this weekend for the second week in a row, a milestone that Justice League was unable to accomplish. There are no big films opening this weekend so Coco will have no competition for the Top Spot at the box office. Instead, a gaggle of independent films are flooding cineplexes across America.

None of those films will crack the Top Five at the box office this weekend. None should crack the Top Ten. They are not premiering in enough movie theaters to garner the revenue to do so.

Because of that fact, the box should be exactly the same as last weekend. The winner of this situation will be Justice League.

Justice League will be Second at the box office this weekend. If any one, two, or three wide opening, mainstream films were opening this weekend, Justice League would not be Second this weekend. Justice League might not even have been in the Top Five this weekend if enough good, wide-opening, mainstream films were opening.

The lack of new mainstream films being released this weekend will also benefit the remainder of the Top Five films from last weekend.

Wonder will be Third at the box office this weekend.

Thor: Ragnarok will be Fourth at the box office this weekend.

Daddy’s Home 2 will be Fifth at the box office this weekend.
