Weekend Impressions

This weekend will be all about superhero films at the box office. Justice League will be Number One at the box office this weekend. Comic book fans and the curious want to see if Justice League lives up to the hype. They want to see if Justice League is good. Fans of The CW’s The Flash will want to see if the film incarnation of The Flash holds a candle to The Flash they have come to know and love on television. They will also want to see if all of the corners that were cut to get to Justice League, e.g. foregoing origin films for Cyborg, Aquaman, and The Flash, was worth the film premiering in theaters.

Reviews, so far, for Justice League have been mixed but that won’t stop anyone from seeing it. Justice League is critic-proof, at least for its opening weekend.

Thor: Ragnarok will be Second at the box office this weekend. There will people that see Thor: Ragnarok for a second time this weekend, some not being able to get into Justice League, while its other audiences members will be true, blue fans of Thor.

Children’s film The Star should be Third at the box office this weekend. I say “should” because Daddy’s Home 2 may hold enough of its audience from last weekend to be third.

Daddy’s Home 2 should be Fourth at the box office this weekend. I say “should” because Wonder, with all of its star-power and its story-line, may be strong enough for a Fourth (or Third) this weekend.

Murder on the Orient Express will be Fifth this weekend at the box office.

This will be the last weekend at the United States box office in which Murder on the Orient Express will be in the Top Five.
