Person of Interest is a crime thriller about a presumed dead former CIA agent who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes. Aided by the Machine – and opposed by ruthless criminals, corrupt cops, and shadowy elements within the government – the team works with two members of the NYPD to stop crimes before they happen.

From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Person of Interest is currently airing its third season on CBS (Tuesdays, 10/9c). Person of Interest: The Complete Second Season is now available on Blue-ray and DVD.

The New York Comic Con 2013 Person of Interest Panel:

Richard J. Lewis (seen also at the Showrunners Panel) made a second appearance at the convention today. He was joined by stars Taraji P. Henson (Detective Joceyln “Joss” Carter), Kevin Chapman (Detective Lionel Fusco), Sarah Shahi (Samantha Shaw), Amy Acker (Root), and Jim Caviezel (John Reese).

*The cast talked in great detail of their love for the characters. Henson gave high praise to the writers, constantly calling them masters.
*The characters “live in the grey” between good and evil, which makes them interesting and dynamic.
*One of the producers present in the audience, named Denise, was brought up from the audience to sit with the rest of the panel.
*Audience members asked if Root (Amy Acker) had a true motivation for her “The Machine” need. Her back story does not seem horrific or damaged as the others, but she is still a psychopathic hacker determined to get what she wants.
*Many of the actors were tight-lipped because they did not want to spoil what the rest of the season had in store.
*The women commented on the appeal of multiple female characters. The cast is evenly balanced between male and female roles. Each female character has a unique back-story, motivation, and strength.
*It was joked that Root and Sarah would have the best fight in a battle-royal.
*Lewis spoke in detail about the need to balance the 1-episode arc of the show while also balancing the larger arc, comparing it on more than one occasion to chapters in a novel.
*The group also spoke about the cinematic look of Person of Interest. They noted that because of computer chips and newer cameras, they are able to have more coverage and angles.

The New York Comic Con 2013 panel footage for Person Of Interest:

In a brief five-minute clip we see Detective Carter and Detective Lionel Fusco. In a game of cat and mouse it appears that Fusco has brought Carter to a lone and empty bar. In a heated discussion Fusco interrogates Carter, believing she is sneaking around and being a difficult partner to work with. Carter turns the tables and exposes her knowledge of Fusco as a dirty cop. She points out that the bartender is also a lieutenant and before he can shoot her, Carter kills the bartender with a gun registered to Fusco. She now has him in the palm of her hands, stating that from now, Fusco works for Carter.
