PITCH PERFECT 3 (2017): Matt Lanter To Play Role In Sequel

Matt Lanter

Matt Lanter Added To The Cast Of Pitch Perfect 3

Timeless star Matt Lanter is slated to play an unknown character in Universal Pictures‘ upcoming comedy follow-up Pitch Perfect 3.

In addition to starring on the NBC science fiction drama, Lanter has also played a significant role in another high-profile sci-fi property. From 2008 to 2014, he provided the voice of Anakin Skywalker on Cartoon Network‘s animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, lending his voice throughout the show’s six-season run and even reprising the role for Star Wars Rebels. On top of this, he was the voice behind several villains and antiheroes like Venom, Klaw, and Harry Osborn (better known as the son of the Green Goblin) on Ultimate Spider-Man.

Although Elizabeth Banks will return as Gail for the Pitch Perfect 2 sequel, the actress will not resume her directorial duties for it. Instead, Trish Sie will helm the project, which is based on a screenplay by Kay Cannon.

Variety, the source of this story, had this to share about the production:

The film will hit theaters on Dec. 22. Vice President of Production Sara Scott will oversee the project for Universal.

Jason Moore directed the original film and helped launch the franchise when the movie, which cost $15 million to produce, went on to become a box office smash, paving the way for a second installment.

Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Brittany Snow are all signed on to return for “Pitch Perfect 3.”
