PLANET OF THE APES 3: Matt Reeves Set to Direct 20th Century Fox Film

Matt Reeves Caesar

Matt Reeves is directing Planet of The Apes 3. Even though Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes has not hit theaters yet, Matt Reeves has been tapped to direct the third film in the series. Essentially, 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment liked what they saw so much in a recent screening for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes that they immediately acquired the director to helm a third Apes film.

With more clout in tow, not only will Matt Reeves be directing the third Plant of the Apes film, he will be co-writing it as well. Mark Bomback, who helped script Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, will co-write alongside with the director.

The third film is apparently being fast tracked and apparently it will be the next film that Reeves makes. “The pic [like all the other films past and present] is based on the Pierre Boulle novel, and was first turned into a film that starred Charlton Heston in 1968.”
