Another promo has made it’s way online for NBC’s new comedy series Powerless, which reveals how the show will connect with one of DC’s popular superheroes, Batman! The show does take place in the DC Universe, but what connection does the show make to the Dark Knight?

So we are familiar with Batman’s alter ego Bruce Wayne, but do you know he has some family in the business? Well, the promo reveals that he has a cousin named Van Wayne, played by Alan Tudyk. It’s true that the show will introduce viewers to Bruce’s cousin Van Wayne, who runs Wayne Securities. It seems like he got the job to lead the company due to his ties to the Wayne family. He also happens to be the boss of Vanessa Hudgens’ character Emily Locke.

In the promo, we get a quick glimpse of the Bat-Signal as the show pans to Van Wayne and his connection to his famous cousin. It seems similar to Superman and Supergirl’s relationship, even though Van Wayne isn’t actually mentioned in the comics. The only cousin we know who’s related to Bruce is Cassandra Wayne, otherwise known as Batgirl. It also looks like Van has a playful relationship with his cousin Bruce, even calling him B-Dubs.
