PREACHER: Season 1, Episode 8: El Valero: Trailer & Clip [AMC]

AMC’s Preacher El Valero trailer & clip. Jesse (Dominic Cooper) may have left himself at a season low-point, with the abuse of his Power of Command, but there’s always lower. One literal example may be under the floorboards, where unintended banishment victim, Eugene, last stood; but while dramatic license does allow for a literal attempt to dig a way to Hell, I’d much rather it be a weapons cache recovery. There are barbarians at the gate.

A… misunderstanding with Odin Quincannon (Jackie Earle Haley) had left the future of his father’s Church & property in a dispute of Alamo proportions  – a notion lost on Donnie (Derek Wilson), who seems dressed for the occasion of the South Rising, at long last. Donnie has his axe to grind, of course; but since an army marches on its stomach, Quincannon has a more every-man motivator in mind, in getting his assembled labor to force Jesse out of the church Quincannon now considers his.

Bringing some hope to the proceedings (depending on who you ask, I guess), Angels-at-large, DeBlanc & Fiore (Anatol Yusef, Tom Brooke) return to finally solve the Preacher’s language problem. This time, however, Jess may be in deep enough to actually co-operate with them – despite maybe some sacrifices having to be made.

‘El Valero’ also stars Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Lucy Griffiths, Ian Colletti, W. Earl Brown, Tim Ransom, Desmin Borges, Tara Karsian, and Graham McTavish. It airs Sunday, July 17, at 9:00pm EST, on AMC.
