The Priest Movie Trailer via the Comic-Con has premiered. Priest (2011) is directed by Scott Stewart and stars Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Maggie Q, Lily Collins, and Cam Gigande. Priest‘s plot synopsis: “A warrior priest (Paul Bettany) disobeys Church law by teaming with a young sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and a beautiful priestess (Maggie Q). The three band together to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped the priest’s niece (Lily Collins) before they turn her into one of them.” Judge Dredd, Mega City, apocalyptic visuals with a so-so plot line. They really do try to sell it as something otherwise though. This comment on another site doesn’t imbue me with much hope: “Priest is based on the Korean manwha series of the same name and is very adult, complex, and edgy. They’ve taken all of that away to give us a movie that kept a name and that’s it.” Oh well, we will have to wait and see. Looks like another Daybreakers or Legion to me with a bigger budget. Priest will be released on May 13, 2011.
