Prison Break has been Canceled

I have to agree, I’ve been watching out of love for the characters and will finish what I started but the show did run out of steam, u can only go so far with what was initially a great concept, unlike something like Lost which at first glance could have been limited but expanded their scope, PB just dragged it’s heels. US shows need to take heed from the UK and other countries and make these shows 2 seasons tops.

My love died for Prison Break, as it did for Heroes. During the beginning of the season the show was on fumes.

I have only seen part of the first episode for Lost.

Sure loved this show in its heyday seasons 1-3,,,

I agree film-book, on your problems with season 4, and also think your ideas would have been much better and given the show a better chance at a season 5,,,

Being a big fan of the show, I was forgiving yet after a few episodes this season I found myself loosing interest.
I think the writers all felt like they wanted to end it after season 3, but FOX wanted to get that 4th season out for whatever reason.
I will pick season 4 up on dvd, as I hope the unaired episodes bring some much needed character closure. I really would love to see T-Bag recaptured that would be better than a tacky death scene.

Heroes is another show that just completely flew off the rails, as i started skipping episodes I cared less and less then just realized i didnt care for the show anymore. What makes me laugh is Heroes, when it premiered, was being compared to and called better than LOST, and now LOST just got better and better and Heroes did a complete turnaround, to me it happened in the first season’s finale, all these powers and it comes down to a fistfight and they all survive this explosion? Puhleeze.

The ending to Season 1 of Heroes was bullshit. “Mom, Dad needs you” right when she has Sylar. The cop gets hit FOUR times in the chest and survives. And Sylar is still alive and is now a good guy or whatever the hell he is.

I’m really getting intrigued with LOST now. I still have to watch the final season of Farscape and Babylon 5 first though.

I lost interest in the show halfway through season three. But the first two seasons were really good. I guess I just got to the point where I had a lot of shows to watch, and while I still kinda enjoyed the show, it went to the back burner because there were others I enjoyed more. But I will definitely pick up the season 3 and 4 DVD’s to see how it all ended, now that I have more time on my hands.

All in all, this news doesn’t surprise me, but not because of the show getting weaker, but simply that it aired on FOX. This show was doomed from the start. FOX is the network where great ideas go to die, er… um get canceled early. If you like a FOX show not named ’24’ or ‘The Simpsons’ then sooner or later you’ll be disappointed, because that show will get canceled. I can’t forgive them for what happened to Arrested Development, one of the most well written and original shows around. I really hope they end up making the A.D. movie. Get your act together and sign on Michael Cera!

I loved season 3 and Sona prison.

I can’t forgive Fox for canceling Firefly and Drive, just when both shows were getting good. To be fair, Firefly was good right out of the gate.

I can’t believe Joss Whedon created another show (Dollhouse) with Fox. That’s a BIG roll of the dice.

Sona was great and the season really ended with bittersweet victory, instead of a dreadful cliffhanger.
Looking back, season 1 was flawless. A standout episode “Brothers Keeper” was the best episode of the entire show (IMO). Look for that one. Its a flashback episode that shows how the escapees landed in FOX River.

Season 2 had some great character development. Especially with Kellerman and Mahone. T-Bag really had his big personal story arc, same with Haywire, Tweener, Bellick, and C Note…

I always wondered what happened to DB Coopers millions after it had fallen into that canal / river ???

Great show, I can always go back to those days when PB was the biggest thing on tv, thanks to the dvds. The shows still as addictive as ever.

Season 2 was far better than Season 1 of Prison Break in my opinion.

I never saw the “Brothers Keeper” episode and probably never will. Maybe I’ll look it up, who knows.

I was surprised Michael did not go back for it with diving gear. The backpack was so heavy it probably went straight down where it was dropped.

It’s a big shame when great ideas lose steam a few seasons in. At least with the likes of Firefly and Spaced we were left wanting more.

Brothers Keeper is in the first season, and it shows how T_Bag, C, Note and Sucre all were caught and sent to prison.

C-Notes story is pretty tragic…
