PROMETHEUS (2012): Michael Fassbender ‘Happy Birthday David’ Video

Michael Fassbender Prometheus

Michael Fassbender Happy Birthday David Prometheus Video. The David the Android Prometheus (2012) viral advertisement video starring Michael Fassbender is informative and chilling if the viewer reads between the lines of what David says at the end of the ad. Plus, this is an android model before the Ash android model on the Nostromo with Ellen Ripley. If the viewer has seen Alien, they know how that turned out without behavioral inhibitors in place.

Most of us, having seen Scott’s Alien, will watch this spot with the awareness of how a lifelike android can become a terrifically dangerous thing. The memory of Ash’s breakdown is not easy to shake.

And here’s the scary bit: David says he is saddened by “unnecessary violence.” So, er, what constitutes “necessary violence”? And what if his vision of necessary is different from ours?

(Finally, while the 2001 echoes are impossible to miss, is David also meant to remind us of Apple’s Siri app? The way he’s questioned here is so much like the ads touting Siri’s abilities.)

Ridley Scotts Prometheus stars Logan Marshall-GreenCharlize Theron, Idris Elba, and Noomi RapacePrometheus‘ plot synopsis: “A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.”

We previously posted the Prometheus (2012): Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce) TEDTalk 2023 Video.

This viral ad for Prometheus reminds the viewer of the Kara (2011) short film and the Bionic (2011) short film.

Prometheus‘ cast also includes Patrick Wilson, Guy Pearce, Rafe Spall, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Emun Elliott, Vladimir ‘Furdo’ Furdik, and James Embree.
