REEL STEEL (2011) Teaser Trailer: Shawn Levy, Hugh Jackman

Real Steel, 2011, Teaser Trailer

The Reel Steel Teaser Trailer has premiered. Shawn Levy‘s Reel Steel (2011) stars Hugh Jackman, Kevin Durand, Evangeline Lilly, and Anthony Mackie. Reel Steel‘s plot synopsis: “A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.” I think the CGI tech exhibited in this film can thank Michael Bay and all of his efforts on robot kind. I have to admit I was very entertained by the Reel Steel teaser trailer. The CGI looks great and the film has a cool aura to it. I saw an episode of the TV animated series C.O.P.S. were they had robot boxing very similar to this. I’m wondering if the robots have A.I., are they sentient in some way or are they controlled remotely by their owners. We’ll have to wait for those answers. Check out the Reel Steel Teaser Trailer below and leave your thoughts on it. Reel Steel opens on November 18, 2011.
