Rather than opening the movie in November, Sony will now release Fury, which stars Brad Pitt, in October.

The original release date for the film was November 14, but Fury will now open just shy of a month earlier, on October 17. The move puts the film squarely in competition with the limited opening of Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman, and has it opening against the animated film The Book of Life, Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal, and the Nicholas Sparks film The Best of Me.

Dumb and Dumber To, Beyond the Lights, Foxcatcher

All three films will be released on November 14, 2014.

Pixels

Now the video game-influenced action/comedy Pixels, based on the short film from Patrick Jean, has been pushed back from May 15, 2015 to July 24, 2015.

American Sniper, Unbroken, Selma

Warner Bros…dated American Sniper, starring Bradley Cooper and directed by Clint Eastwood, for a limited release on Christmas Day.

American Sniper will arrive on the same day as two other true-story dramatic features – director Angelina Jolie’s Louis Zamperini biopic Unbroken and director Ava DuVernay’s Martin Luther King, Jr. memoir Selma

The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Point Break

They’ve also shifted the release date of Guy Ritchie‘s The Man from U.N.C.L.E., starring Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, from January 16, 2015  to August 14, 2015 and moved the Point Break remake up one week to July 31, 2015.
