The Theatrical Release Schedule for The Conjuring 2, Inferno, Penguins of Madagascar, and other films have been revealed. The announced release dates and the adjusted release schedules are between 2015-2018. All the release dates are subject to change by their producers and/or their distributors.

Deepwater Horizon

Summit Entertainment has staked out a date for Deepwater Horizon…[it will] hit theaters in wide release on September 30, 2016.

Vacation

National Lampoon’s Vacation has been moved up in next fall’s release calendar from November 13, 2015 to October 9, 2015.

After The Fall

Entertainment One Films has acquired North American distribution rights to Saar Klein’s After The Fall…It will be released December 12 day-and-date in theaters and on VOD.

Inferno

Sony has pushed back the release date of “Inferno,” with Tom Hanks starring and Ron Howard directing, nearly a year to Oct. 14, 2016.

The studio had originally dated its adaptation of Dan Brown’s latest Robert Langdon book for Dec. 18, 2015.

“Inferno” joins Focus’ “A Monster Calls” on the Oct. 14, 2016 release date.

Hitman: Agent 47

[Fox] has moved next year’s assassin thriller Hitman: Agent 47 from February 27 to August 28, a six-month bump.

Independence Day 2

In a lower-profile move for a higher-profile movie, Fox also said the long-in-the-works sequel Independence Day 2 has moved out of the 2016 Fourth of July weekend to the previous frame. It’s now set to land June 24, where the pic will duke it out Universal’s horror reboot The Mummy.

Jem And The Holograms

The live-action Jem And The Holograms movie based on the Hasbro animated series will be released on October 23, 2015

The Conjuring 2

The release date for horror sequel The Conjuring 2, originally slated for Oct. 23, 2015, has been moved, with New Line putting an untitled horror film its place.

The Conjuring 2 is now slated for 2016.

Penguins of Madagascar

China will be seeing Penguins of Madagascar nearly two weeks before kids in America get a chance to see the spinoff of DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar franchise. The film opens in China on Nov. 14, two days before its red carpet premier in New York, and 12 days before the film debuts in U.S. theaters on Nov. 26.

Drug Lord: The Legend of Shorty

Drug Lord: The Legend of Shorty made its world premiere earlier this year…Now Gravitas Ventures, PBS’ Frontline and Submarine Deluxe are teaming up to release the docu this fall. Submarine release theatrically on November 14,with Gravitas handling VOD day and date. PBS will broadcast the Frontline film in 2015.

San Andreas

Warner Bros is moving its earthquake actioner San Andreas up a week to May 29, 2015 from its previous slot of June 5. The Dwayne Johnson-starrer will now face off against Sony/Columbia’s Untitled Cameron Crowe, Focus Features’ horror pic Insidious Chapter 3 and Paramount’s animated Monster Trucks.
