The Theatrical Release Schedule for Avatar Sequels, Ghost in the Shell, Outcast, and other films have been revealed. The announced release dates and the adjusted release schedules are between 2015-2017. All the release dates are subject to change by their producers and/or their distributors.

Avatar Sequel Trilogy

The AP has interviewed James Cameron in New Zealand, who informs that his plan to shoot three sequels to his all time top grossing Avatar proved so ambitious that he has been forced to move the whole release schedule forward one year. So, instead of the first sequel appearing Christmas 2016, it will wait until the following year, with each subsequent film coming a year after, bringing an Avatar sequel from 2017-2019.

Ghost in the Shell

The Jungle Book

Pete’s Dragon

The Finest Hours

Ghost in the Shell…will be released April 14, 2017. Jon Favreau‘s The Jungle Book, which is currently in production and was supposed to come out in October, has now been moved back to April 15, 2016. And that Pete’s Dragon remake that has been casting? That was slotted in for August 12, 2016.

The Finest Hours…has taken the Jungle Book slot and will hit October 9, 2015.

Outcast….has had its release date pulled yet again by Chinese authorities.

Mysteriously yanked at the last minute in September, the China release was subsequently rescheduled for mid-January, shortly before the film’s U.S. release on Feb. 6.

However, sources said the movie’s release date had been pulled again, with no new date issued.
