Rising Stars Comic

MGM Options Film Rights for Comic Book Rising Stars. Superheroes are the latest trend in Hollywood, and the comic book series Rising Stars is about to be a part of the craze as MGM has already optioned the rights to adapt the Top Cow publication into a film.

Deadline reported that screenwriter J. Michael Straczynski’s comic book Rising Stars was picked by MGM to adapt into a superhero film. The series, which ran from 1999 to 2005, had a big delay in the last few issues due to Michael’s dispute with Top Cow over a potential movie deal. However, it all worked out for them and now Straczynski is writing the script. Atlas Entertainment’s Alex Gartner and Richard Suckle is producing the project alongside Straczynski.
