Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway cast in Robopocalypse. The casting of Anne Hathaway in Robopocalypse (2014) answers the question of who will play the female lead in the Steven Spielberg directed film. Chris Hemsworth and Ben Whishaw have also been cast in the film, Hemsworth being the lead of the film. Though Anne Hathaway has given very little away about her role in the film, she has said this:

“If Robopocalypse happens I will be in it, and I believe it’s quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything.”

She also shared this about her casting in the film:

“Whenever I’m taking time off, I always joke to my team that I’m on vacation unless Steven Spielberg calls. And I was on vacation and Spielberg called. So I was like, ‘OK, put my money where my mouth is’.”

Robopocalypse’s plot synopsis (from the Daniel H. Wilson book): “Not far into our future, the dazzling technology that runs our world turns against us. Controlled by a childlike—yet massively powerful—artificial intelligence known as Archos, the global network of machines on which our world has grown dependent suddenly becomes an implacable, deadly foe. At Zero Hour—the moment the robots attack—the human race is almost annihilated, but as its scattered remnants regroup, humanity for the first time unites in a determined effort to fight back. This is the oral history of that conflict, told by an international cast of survivors who experienced this long and bloody confrontation with the machines.”

This plot makes the film sound a lot like I, Robot, World War Z, and the Bultetarian Jihad from Dune.
