ROCK THE KASBAH (2015) Movie Trailer 2: Bill Murray Combs Desert For New Talent

Rock The Kasbah Trailer 2. Barry Levinson‘s Rock The Kasbah (2015) movie trailer stars Bill Murray, Danny McBride, Zooey Deschanel, and Bruce Willis. Rock The Kasbah‘s plot synopsis: “A down-on-his-luck music manager discovers a teenage girl with an extraordinary voice while on a music tour in Afghanistan and takes her to Kabul to compete on the popular television show, Afghan Star.”

It’s too early to tell, but I feel like the stars aligned a little on this one. Barry Levinson is a great director who’s been overlooked for far too long, Bill Murray looks really invested here, and the whole thing has an acerbic wit and momentum and excitement to it that I can’t help but be charmed by. Hell, even Bruce Willis looks fun in this – granted, he’s in the trailer for 3 seconds, but that was the best work of his I’ve seen in years. I might be biased here, since I’m passionate about the 1970s in general, 1970s rock, Bill Murray, and questionable gonzo-esque journeys through life-questioning deserts.
