Salvation Trailer for CBS’ New Scifi TV Series
CBS‘ Salvation (2017) TV show trailer stars Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance. Salvation‘s plot plot synopsis: “Salvation is a suspense thriller that centers on a staggering discovery: an enormous asteroid is just six months away from colliding with Earth. Without alerting the public, MIT grad student Liam Cole and tech billionaire Darius Tanz team up to save humanity from this impending apocalypse.
*Update – A review for the first episode of Salvation can be found here: Salvation: Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot Review.
Keeping it secret will complicate life for Liam and those closest to him. Meanwhile, the government has its own approach. Grace Barrows is both the Pentagon Press Secretary and a single mom, and she deftly navigates the complicated waters of both jobs. Deputy Secretary of Defense Harris Edwards has been tasked with running their own top-secret plan to deflect the asteroid.”
Putting an event, apocalypse film on the small screen is bold choice. Unlike Independence Day, 2012, and most of Roland Emmerich‘s disaster films, Salvation seems as though it has zero cheese. Salvation takes its characters and the situation seriously.
Salvation poses one interesting question: how would a realistic U.S. government deal with a ELE (Extinction Level Event) situation. Moviegoers saw this in Deep Impact, Impact, and now they will see it in a 2017 setting.
The competing interests of Salvation‘s characters will be what keeps viewers engaged beyond the impending death of humanity.
Salvation also stars Shazi Raja and Ian Anthony Dale.
