Marc Abraham‘s I Saw The Light (2016) movie trailer stars Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen and David Krumholtz. I saw The Light‘s plot synopsis: “I SAW THE LIGHT, the story of the legendary country western singer Hank Williams, who in his brief life created one of the greatest bodies of work in American music. The film chronicles his meteoric rise to fame and its ultimately tragic effect on his health and personal life.”

According to Slashfilm, “It’s easy to see why Sony Classics thought this might get lost in the shuffle of awards season, because while the performances look fantastic and Williams’ life is an interesting story, it’s also very familiar for those of us who have seen the acclaimed Johnny Cash story Walk the Line. There’s a struggling marriage, infidelity on the road, substance abuse, redemption, and of course, a soundtrack featuring classic country music. It’s bound to be a good movie, but doesn’t really offer anything groundbreaking for awards season.

Elizabeth Olsen looks to turn in a fine performance as well, and her presence alongside Hiddleston is likely to get some more mainstream eyes on this drama. After all, where else are you going to be able to see Loki belt out some country tunes while having a troubled marriage with Scarlet Witch?”
