Billy Ray‘s Secret In Their Eyes (2015) movie trailer stars Julia Roberts, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Nicole Kidman, Dean Norris, Michael Kelly, and Joe Cole. Secret In Their Eyes plot synopsis: “A tight-knit team of FBI investigators, along with their District Attorney supervisor, is suddenly torn apart when they discover that one of their own teenage daughters has been brutally murdered.”

This trailer made me perk up. I love thrillers, especially when they’re handled by competent writers and directors, which Billy Ray certainly is, and when the film’s tone and content isn’t hampered by a PG-13 rating. This looks like a thriller for adults, with a great cast all around, and a procedural chase for someone that is sure to leave me lapping up every bit of evidence our characters find. I am always excited for a thrilling, procedural manhunt.

The reason I’ve avoided mentioning something in the headline here, and I recommend watching the trailer before continuing to read this paragraph. The reason I left out any mention of the killer’s victim being Julia Roberts’ character’s daughter, was that it hit me as a surprise, and I’d rather have people watch this trailer blind just as I did.

In any case, this looks great. I’m ready to plop down in my seat in a darkened auditorium and let the case play out in front of me.

Secret In Their Eyes also stars Lyndon Smith, Zoe Graham, Don Harvey, and Mark Famiglietti.
