Saying this is Jaws for a new generation was a big marketing mistake. Jaws is a horror movie like no other: fantastic direction, characters, situation, and epic, iconic music. This is what the marketing department behind The Shallows is asking you to think of when you sit down to watch this film. Big mistake.

A good film will be noticed, certainly a great one will. The mad man behind this film want you to believe it is the latter. We’ll see. They have certainly set expectations high.
