Whoopi Goldberg And Giancarlo Esposito Sign On To Shriver

Academy Award-winning Ghost actress Whoopi Goldberg and Giancarlo Esposito are set to play roles in the planned comedy Shriver.

As one of the most celebrated talents of her generation, Goldberg hardly needs an introduction. In addition to garnering her first Academy Award nomination for her performance in The Color Purple, she has been nominated for 13 separate Emmy Awards for her hosting and narration of such programs as The View and the 68th Academy Awards. Esposito, on the other hand, has played supporting roles in a number of films but is perhaps best known as the villainous Gus Fring from Breaking Bad.

A comedy from Content Media, the proposed movie will see the two actors join a cast that includes Toni Collette and Thomas Hayden Church. No release date has been offered for the film, although shooting is scheduled to start later in the year.

Per Comingsoon.net, the source of this story:

Shriver tells the story of a loner mistaken for a renowned but reclusive author. He suddenly finds himself the center of attention at a writer’s conference celebrating the 20th anniversary of the book written by the real author. Shriver takes on the mistaken identity while sparking a romance with the English professor who runs the conference. He is about to pull it all off when the real Shriver appears leading to fantastic comedic crescendo.
