SISTERS (2015) Movie Trailer: Amy Poehler & Tina Fey Throw a Party

Sisters Trailer

Sisters Trailer. Jason Moore‘s Sisters (2015) movie trailer stars Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, and Ike Barinholtz. Sisters‘ plot synopsis: “Two sisters decide to throw one last house party before their parents sell their family home.”

This looks like an above average comedy, which makes sense when you look at the talent involved. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are masters at their craft, and I’d watch pretty much anything they have their hands in. The premise is fairly simple, but that’s probably a good thing, leaving room for improv and jokes in general. I’m very, very glad there’s not one bit of sentimentality jammed into this movie (judging from the trailer). There could easily be something “heartwarming” or “romantic” crammed into this – the chunks you’d probably take advantage of to go to the bathroom.

The cast is exciting, the director capable, and the writer a former SNL writer. Sounds good to me!

It’s interesting to note that this movie will premiere alongside the new Star Wars film. Fey and Poehler have joked that they will “crush” the sci-fi blockbuster, and you know what? There’s no chance they’ll overtake that star-destroyer of a franchise, but this might actually be very smart counter-programming. After all, comedies are hilarious, and I have a feeling Star Wars won’t be filled with raunchy, situational comedy.

Sisters also stars Kate McKinnon, John Leguizamo, John Cena, and Bobby Moynihan.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
