The international movie trailer for The Snowman (2017) has been released by Universal Pictures. The first trailer for The Snowman pales in comparison to this trailer. The first trailer was disjointed. This trailer presents a clear narrative with many surprises. The viewer gets background on the main characters, their hindrances, and the killer. The killer in The Snowman begins playing with the very people hunting him, feeling his oats. It is beautiful, so enticing in fact that I might actually read the book this film is based on. Intelligent, well-written antagonists can make a narrative shine e.g. Se7en. I am not saying that The Snowman is Se7en or even the next The Bone Collector. The Snowman, based on this international trailer, does look good though.

The Snowman‘s plot synopsis: based on the book by Jo Nesbø, “When an elite crime squad’s lead detective (Fassbender) investigates the disappearance of a victim on the first snow of winter, he fears an elusive serial killer may be active again. With the help of a brilliant recruit (Ferguson), the cop must connect decades-old cold cases to the brutal new one if he hopes to outwit this unthinkable evil before the next snowfall.”

The Snowman‘s screenplay was written by Peter Straughan, Hossein Amini, and Matthew Michael Carnahan.
