Son of Saul Trailers and Clips. László NemesSon of Saul / Saul fia (2015) movie trailers, movie clips (‘Rabbi,’ ‘You are a Rabbi,’ ‘Don’t Cut This Boy,’ ‘Clean’) star Géza Röhrig, Levente Molnár, Urs Rechn, Todd Charmont, and Marcin Czarnik. Son of Saul‘s plot synopsis: “Saul Ausländer is a Hungarian member of the Sonderkommando, the group of Jewish prisoners isolated from the camp and forced to assist the Nazis in the machinery of large-scale extermination.

While working in one of the crematoriums, Saul discovers the body of a boy he takes for his son.

As the Sonderkommando plans a rebellion, Saul decides to carry out an impossible task: save the child’s body from the flames, find a rabbi to recite the mourner’s Kaddish and offer the boy a proper burial.”

I have heard a lot about this film (its nominated in the Best Foreign Film category of the Academy Awards) and I am pleased to see it might be better than my expectations. This seems like one sad film. I can’t believe Saul takes the risk he takes with so much on the line and so many people depending on him. The human heart can cut through sorrow and desperate situations but the sorrow and desperate situation that Saul is a part of is unprecedented. He is a brave, foolhardy man.
