This is what I have been waiting for, a full look at the upcoming season of Spartacus: Vengeance. The scenes with Ilithyia (Viva Bianca) and Lucretia (Lucy Lawless)’ first appearance towards the end of the TV show trailer are probably the most entertaining. Ilithyia never thought she would have to see the ludus again or Lucretia. It looks like Oenomaus (Peter Mensah) gets sent to The Pits to fight as further punishment, besides being wiped, for what happened in the ludus.

Spartacus: Vengeance will star Craig Parker, Dustin Clare, Gareth Williams, Katrina Law, Nick E. Tarabay, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and John Hannah. For a full listing of all the returning character in Spartacus: Blood and Sand: Season 2 aka Spartacus: Vengeance, we posted this article: Spartacus: Blood and Sand: Season 2: Plot, Returning Characters List.

About the revolt Spartacus leads, The Third Servile War:

The Third Servile War (73-71 BC), also called the Gladiator War and The War of Spartacus by Plutarch, was the last of a series of unrelated and unsuccessful slave rebellions against the Roman Republic, known collectively as the Roman Servile Wars. The Third Servile War was the only one to directly threaten the Roman heartland of Italy and was doubly alarming to the Roman people due to the repeated successes of the rapidly growing band of rebel slaves against the Roman army between 73 and 71 BC.

The incidents leading up, during and after the war were chronicled in Howard Fast’s great book that inspired two movies and this series.
