Hannibal Buress becomes the latest actor to join the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The comedian and television personality has been cast in an unknown role in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot from director Jon Watts.
Although Buress’s efforts have been primarily focused on his stand-up comedy, he has been appearing in an increasing number of films as of late. The comedian just finished acting in Paramount Pictures‘ film adaptation of Baywatch and providing the voice for a character in Universal Pictures‘ The Secret Life of Pets.
In addition to Buress’s casting, The Hollywood Reporter also states that rising stars Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and J.J. Totah have joined the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming. As with Buress, it is unknown which character each actor will portray in the film:
The ever-growing Spider-Man: Homecoming cast includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Michael Keaton as a mystery villain (believed to be the Vulture), Logan Marshall-Green as a secondary villain, Kenneth Choi as Peter’s high school Principal and Zendaya as a character by the name of Michelle. There’s also mystery roles for Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori.
“It really is a homecoming,” Tom Holland told the CinemaCon crowd during the film’s title announcement earlier this year, “because, throughout the movie, Peter is trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in this world.”
