Sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming Already Gets a Release Date

After debuting the trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Marvel and Sony are already looking ahead for Spider-Man’s next film. Fans can expect to see Tom Holland returning as New York City’s favorite web slinger when the sequel gets released on July 5, 2019.

Just literally moments after the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming came online, Sony Pictures is already thinking ahead for their sequel. This isn’t something Marvel does, but seeing that they have their biggest property on their line-up, it’s hardly surprising that they want to reserve a good date for the sequel before the first film hits theaters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. We don’t know who will be cast in the new film, but we can at least expect some returning faces to come in the sequel.

The new date for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will have the film face some competition against Transformers 7, which comes out a week before it. However, Spidey will be taking advantage from the big Fourth of July weekend. The new film also seems to confirm that this will be the first chapter in Phase 4 of the MCU after the untitled Avengers 4 comes out in May that year.
