Star Trek 2 Villains Revealed. The 2013 Untitled Star Trek Sequel directed by J.J. Abrams and starring Benedict Cumberbatch has inspired much speculation as to the role the British thespian would play in the upcoming scifi film. It was obvious almost from the beginning it would the villan role, but who or what villain. Now it seems through multiple sources that the villainous role has been revealed.

(*Spoiler Begins*) It is being reported that Benedict Cumberbatch is

portraying super-human Khan Noonien Singh…While this news is far from 100% guaranteed true (much less official), there’s more than a little good reason to suspect that it’s accurate. Trek sequel co-writer Damon Lindelof previously indicated that he and his collaborators (Star Trek writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci) are taking their cues for the sequel from The Dark Knight, which likewise featured an iconic villain, who’d already been featured in a previous cinematic incarnation of that particular franchise…Perhaps the biggest piece of evidence that suggests the Khan story is indeed true was presented recently by Cumberbatch himself (albeit, somewhat inadvertently). During an interview with LondonNet, the actor revealed that he’d been working out and altering his physique, so as to play a character in the Trek sequel described simply as “strong.” Khan, who possesses super-human strength enough as to present a challenge to Spock…, fits that bill.

sources indicate that the film is not a rehash of “Space Seed,” the original Star Trek episode where Kirk and crew first encounter the genetic superman from the past.

Khan Noonien Singh is not the only villain possibly revealed to be in Star Trek 2. Star Trek 2 will also feature Klingons, who were in the original film but later deleted. Spock Prime may also make an appearance.

Leonard Nimoy is reportedly set to reprise his turn as “Spock Prime.” This is based not only on word from insiders, but also Nimoy himself – who confirmed as much to CNN last week, and even released the following, curiosity-arousing Tweet recently:

I enjoy conversations with JJ Abrams and Zachary Quinto. Keeping up on their work. They are my friends. LLAP (*Spoiler Ends*)

Star Trek 2 will also stars Alice Eve, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto, John Cho, Peter Weller, Bruce Greenwood, Elly Kaye, Noel Clarke, Nazneen Contractor, and Tom Archdeacon.

Are you looking forward to Khan 2.0? I am.
