Three New Star Wars: The Last Jedi TV Spots
Three new movie TV commercials for Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) have premiered. The Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi TV spots are entitled ‘Heroes’, ‘Light’, while the third has no title (but may be the tenth official TV commercial released for the film). Both Star Wars: The Last Jedi ads feature new footage.
I loved in the ‘Heroes’ TV spot when Finn woke up in the tank and called out “Rey.” Rey telling Luke Skywalker in the ‘Light’ TV spot “Kylo failed you. I won’t.” was good but not as good as Finn’s wake up moment in ‘Heroes.’
Regarding Star Wars: The Last Jedi as a whole, I am curiously ambivalent towards the film. I realize that this has to do with aspects of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story but the feeling can’t be shaken.
The film seems to be looking into the past instead of looking toward the future, thus new ground.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s plot synopsis: “Rey develops her newly discovered abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her powers. Meanwhile, the Resistance prepares to do battle with the First Order.”
Rian Johnson‘s Star Wars: The Last Jedi also stars Carrie Fisher, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Laura Dern, Billie Lourd, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Benicio Del Toro, Andy Serkis, Gareth Edwards, John Boyega, Warwick Davis, Lupita Nyong’o, Peter Mayhew, and Anthony Daniels.
