STAR WARS: Phoebe Waller-Bridge Cast In Han Solo Film

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Joins The Cast Of Han Solo Film

Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been added to the cast of the Star Wars‘ franchise’s planned Han Solo spin-off film.

The announcement of Waller-Bridge’s involvement with the project is all the more noteworthy as it is also reported that she will be playing a character by means of performance capture. It isn’t clear what exact role her character has in the film nor if it is a member of an already existing species or a newcomer to the Star Wars universe, but this information means that her performance will be realized in a manner similar to how Lupita Nyong’o‘s was in The Force Awakens.

Waller-Bridge joins an already-impressive roster for the production, which currently boasts the likes of Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, and Alden Ehrenreich as the iconic rogue himself. As if this wasn’t enough, it has been confirmed that Chewbacca will also figure within the story.

Per Superherohype, the source of this story:

The screenplay for the Han Solo movie hails written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan and will focus on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley. It has also been confirmed that Chewbacca will also be a featured character in the film and, while unconfirmed, it is likely that The Force Awakens‘ Joonas Suotamo will reprise the role.
