Star Wars The Force Awakens Home Release Trailer, Specifications, and Release Date. Details on the Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD have been released by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment along with a in-home release trailer. All of the released materials herald the release of Star Wars 7 on April 5, 2016. The Digital HD version will be available a few days earlier on April 1, 2016. The 3D version of the film will be available later this year.

The special features for the Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens home release, as one would expect, are extensive:

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, as a means of rewarding its retailers (Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Disney Store) and fans, are offering special editions (not those special editions) of Star Wars: The Force Awakens to disc purchasers. Each edition will have something unique about it.

Disney Store disc package will come with an exclusive lithograph (while supplies last).

Target will get exclusive packaging and twenty minutes of additional bonus content including interviews and a look at the weapons and costumes of the film.
