Suicide Squad Deleted Scenes Extended Cut Trailer

A new trailer for Suicide Squad: Extended Cut has been released. Unlike the announcement trailer, the new trailer entitled ‘Suicide Squad Deleted Scenes Extended Cut Trailer’ features a dozen or more deleted scenes from the film that originally ended up on the cutting run floor. Many of the new scenes feature extended sequences are between The Joker and Harley Quinn.

I was surprised that some of the deleted scenes so closely echo some of the chapters featured in the novelization of the film. Getting specific, what the Joker says to Harley before damaging her mind. The scene in this trailer echoes the scene from the book.

There are also other new scenes for a few other characters as well showcased in the trailer. Whether these new scenes would have garnered the film an R-rating (or made the film better) remains to be seen.

Suicide Squad‘s plot synopsis: “It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super-Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?”

David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, Will Smith, Jared Leto, Adam Beach, Ben Affleck, Jai Courtney, Karen Fukuhara, Common, Jim Parrack, Joel Kinnaman, Jay Hernandez, Scott Eastwood, and Ike Barinholt.
