Sundance Film Festival 2014: FilmBook’s 1st Year Covering this Event

Sundance Film Festival 2014 Logo

This is FilmBook‘s first year covering the Sundance Film Festival. I have read and watched coverage from this prestigious film festival on other websites for years. This is the first time we have been able to attend. We went through the press accreditation process like every other website, we were approved, and then an emergency occurred that caused us to doubt if we would be able to attend. Luckily that wasn’t the case. That situation is also the reason for the timing of this article (the festival has already begun).

There are many people behind the scenes of FilmBook that make this website and its coverage possible and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them.

As with any film festival, we will not be able to see and cover every film shown (a near impossible feat) but we will be seeing and reporting on a great deal of them.

On this year’s Sundance Film Festival:

The Sundance Film Festival, a program of the Sundance Institute, is an American film festival that takes place annually in Utah. With 46,731 attendees in 2012, it is one of the largest independent film festivals in the United States. Held in January in Park City, Salt Lake City, and Ogden, as well as at the Sundance Resort, the festival is a showcase for new work from American and international independent filmmakers. The festival comprises competitive sections for American and international dramatic and documentary films, both feature-length films and short films, and a group of out-of-competition sections, including NEXT, New Frontier, Spotlight, and Park City At Midnight.

As mentioned earlier, the Sundance Film Festival is already underway (January 16, 2014 – January 26, 2014).
