SUPERGIRL: First Look at the Fortress of Solitude [CBS]

Fortress of Solitude Supergirl

First Photo of the Fortress of Solitude Surfaces on Supergirl. CBS has just unveiled the first details on the February 29th episode of Supergirl, where Kara (Melissa Benoist) will be facing off against Indigo (Laura Vandervoort) but she may need to go to a special place…

In the upcoming episode ‘Solitude’, Kara ends up traveling to her cousin Superman’s Fortress of Solitude for answers in how to defeat her latest enemy Indigo and we got our first look at the famous location. According to DC Comics lore, Indigo is an AI similar to Braniac who can travel through wires by Internet. In the show, she will have the same origins and share a connection with Kara’s past. She’s being played by Laura Vandervoort, who was also known for her role as Supergirl in Smallville, so it will be fun seeing her play a different character.

What is also interesting is that Kara will be using an iconic Superman location without it being tied to Man of Steel. This version of Superman’s HQ seems to be similar to the one shown on Smallville. The Fortress of Solitude has been used in many of the comics as a source of knowledge from the Man of Steel’s home world. It would’ve been nice to have Superman have some sort of role in this episode since this is his home base, but the show has been doing well with each episode so this may turn out to be a fun episode regardless.
