SUPERGIRL: Kevin Smith Reveals Title of Episode He’s Directing [The CW]

Supergirl Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith Unveils Title of Supergirl Episode He’s Directing. It’s good news when one hears that Kevin Smith is set to direct an episode of Supergirl. Even the director himself is excited, so much so that he joyfully revealed the title of the episode himself.

Some of you may remember that Kevin Smith had a script for Superman Lives that never got filmed. Well, the Jay and Silent Bob director will be using the title of the script for Supergirl and will be calling the episode as ‘Supergirl Lives’. Smith made the announcement on his Facebook page. This comes on the heels of the news that Smith will return to direct on The CW in not only another episode of The Flash, but also his first episode of the network’s newly acquired series Supergirl.

The director is a fan of the show and was so happy to learn that the title of his episode will have ties to his defunct script for Superman. Here’s what he wrote on his post:

…There’s bittersweet poetry to this Super gig: 20 years ago, I wrote a script for a movie called ?#?Superman? Lives – a Superman reboot that never got off the ground (see the brilliant documentary ?#?thedeathofsupermanlives? by @jonschnepp for the full story).

The other day, my own personal superhero ?#?andrewkreisberg? told me something in an email that made me roll a tear: it has nothing to do with the actual plot of my episode, but they titled the script for the one I’m directing “Supergirl Lives.” Only way any of this gets better would be if Kara has to fight a giant spider (or “Thanagarian Snare Beast”) in the 3rd act…
