SUPERGIRL: New Promo Releases and More on Superman’s Appearance [CBS]

Superman Supergirl Pilot CBS

CBS’s Supergirl Gets a New Promo as More Details Revealed on Superman’s Depiction. A brief promo of the new superhero series Supergirl takes flight featuring a few snippets from the pilot with new footage. We also get some info on how Kara’s famous cousin will appear in the series.

In the new promo, we get a few scenes from the pilot showing Melissa Benoist in action as Kara Danvers AKA Supergirl. In the first trailer, we only get a glimpse of the Man of Steel but we already know that his presence will be felt throughout the series since he shares the same DNA as Kara. The only question is, how much of Superman will we get to see on the show? Well, it seems there’s a reason behind this.

Talking with EW, EP Ali Adler explained that we will be looking at the show through Supergirl’s perspective, so we won’t see Superman interacting with her but he will interact with other characters in the series, taking a que from another series. “Our prototype is the way the president is seen on Veep,” executive producer Ali Adler said. “It’s certainly [inspired by] so much of what Julia-Louis Dreyfus’ character goes through. Ultimately, this is a show about Supergirl and we really want to see it through her lens.”

This pretty much explains why the show hasn’t casted anyone to play Superman, but at least he will be acknowledged because the show is about Supergirl after all. So what do you guys think?
