SUPERIOR: Mark Miller Eyes Wrestler John Cena for Lead Role

John Cena Superior

Mark Miller Seeking WWE Superstar John Cena to Play Lead Role in Superior

Work is still ongoing for the film adaptation of Mark Miller’s comic book limited series Superior, but it sounds like Miller may have already have someone in mind to play the lead. The comic book writer is currently eyeing WWE wrestler John Cena to play the comic book superhero.

We haven’t much news since January when Brandon and Philip Murphy were chosen as the screenwriters for the Superior adaptation. It looks like the project is still on after Mark Miller went on Twitter to reveal that he has spoken to someone about John Cena taking on the role.

Based on the comic, Superior follows a 12-year-old boy with multiple sclerosis who gets granted one wish by an alien monkey. He wishes to become his favorite comic book movie superhero Superior. He gets his wish, but there’s a catch, which causes things to play out much differently than he expected. The seven-issue series was published between 2010 and 2012.

Cena may be the ideal choice for this role. Just like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, the film may be able to prove himself to be more of a capable actor for the role. It would depend on whether his WWE schedule would allow him to do a movie like this, but hopefully it can happen.

What do you guys think of Cena taking on a superhero role for Superior?
