Blood Drive Trailer

Syfy‘s Blood Drive (2017) TV show trailer stars Alan Ritchson, Christina Ochoa, Colin Cunningham, Thomas Dominique, and Marama Corlett. Blood Drive‘s plot synopsis: “Los Angeles in the near future: where water is a scarce as oil, and climate change keeps the temperature at a cool 115 in the shade. It’s a place where crime is so rampant that only the worst violence is punished, and where Arthur Bailey — the city’s last good cop — runs afoul of the dirtiest and meanest underground car rally in the world, Blood Drive. The master of ceremonies is a vaudevillian nightmare, The drivers are homocidal deviants, and the cars run on human blood. Buckle Up, Lube Up and prepare for everything you know about Cable Television to Blow up!”

This TV show looks absolutely nuts. When the trailer opened up with Grace Argento (Christina Ochoa), the viewer thought that Grace was going to rob the person that drove up to her car on the side of the road. When her true intention showed itself, it was gory, unbelievable, absurd, and very grindhouse. That was when the flood gates opened and every troupe of Grindhouse showed itself: monsters, cannibals, nymphomaniacs, cults, etc. They all sprang into existence in vivid colors on the screen.

A horror TV series like Blood Drive would have been impossible fifteen years ago. The Walking Dead and numerous FX TV series have significantly lowered the acceptability bar. This is the landscape onto which Blood Drive now steps.
