TERMINATOR 5 (2015): Alan Taylor Directing Megan Ellison Produced Film

Alan Taylor is directing Terminator 5. Alan Taylor being selected answers the question of who will direct the fifth Terminator film. The film will be produced by Megan Ellison‘s Annapurna, Skydance Productions, and Paramount Pictures. Terminator 5 will be the first of a proposed new trilogy. Arnold Schwarzenegger has previously commented that he will be in the next Terminator film but in what capacity has not been disclosed.

“Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier” penned the script but there is no word on what the plot of the new Terminator film will be.

Skydance and Annapurna will co-finance along with the studio with David Ellison producing for Skydance and Megan Ellison producing for Annapurna…Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake are on as exec producers. Par will handle distribution.

It initiates a nuclear first strike against Russia, ensuring a devastating counter strike and a nuclear holocaust, wiping out much of humanity instantly. In the post-apocalyptic aftermath, Skynet builds up its own autonomous machine-based military capability, which includes the Terminators used against individual human targets, and proceeds to fight a war against the surviving elements of humanity, some of whom have organized militarily into the Resistance. At some point in this future, Skynet develops the ability of time travel, and both it and the Resistance seek to use it to win the war by preventing or forestalling their present timeline.
